Zach Walters is an insurance agent at the Duluth branch of Great Lakes Insurance Agency. The office is located on the 4th floor of the Wells Fargo Building. He grew up in Minnesota but spent his early years as a missionary kid on the island of Madagascar. Later, Zach went to school at the University of Minnesota Duluth to earn his degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminology. While in college, Zach started a professional boxing career and was ranked 12 in the world among other notable titles. He also spent several years as a chemical dependency counselor before starting his career in the insurance business.
Zach joined Great Lakes Insurance Agency in August 2009 as a producer and has since moved on to become the branch manager in Duluth. He enjoys helping clients learn the value of having a knowledgeable insurance agent and policies properly constructed with good coverage limits. Zach views his role as an insurance agent more like a public servant. When working with a new client, he first looks at their existing insurance policies to check for gaps in coverage and from there looks into ways to furnish the best plans for the client. By focusing on client needs first, it becomes a win for all parties.
Outside of work, Zach is actively involved in the Duluth Chamber of Commerce, serves as the Board Vice President of The Hills Youth and Family Services, and mentors youth through his role as a boxing coach. Zach and his family are members at The Vineyard Church and have called Duluth their home since 2000. Zach currently resides in the Chester neighborhood in Duluth with his wife Shannon, and their children Caden and Lila. Their favorite family activities are spending time together hiking the beautiful nature trails in the surrounding parks and going to the sandy beach on Park Point. .
