Great Lakes Insurance began back in 1998 as a captive agency representing American National Insurance in Cloquet. Eight years later we made the decision to become an independent insurance agency, representing more than just one company. Being independent provides us and our policyholders much more choice when it came to choosing the best coverage and finding the best value.

Don Lathrop Jr. is by far the very best insurance agent I have every had for my personal and business needs over the last 47 years and 6 ins. agents. He will answer his phone most every time I call him, and if he missed my call, he will call back as soon as he gets the VM or text. Most insurance agencies are hard to get a hold of but Zach is always right on top of it! My husband use to work for them years ago and the owners are amazing!
