Zach joined Great Lakes Insurance Agency in August 2009. He specializes in Life Insurance, Business Insurance, and Personal Lines Insurance (Home/Auto). Zach enjoys helping his clients get the insurance they need at the best available rates. He views his role as an insurance agent more like that of a public servant and focuses on delivering excellence in service through effective communication. By focusing on client needs first, it becomes a win for all parties.
Zach grew up in Minnesota but spent his early years as a missionary kid on the island of Madagascar. He graduated from Fergus Falls High School and moved to Duluth to pursue a career in boxing and go to college. In 2006, Zach graduated from UMD with a degree in Psychology and Criminology. While in college, Zach started a professional boxing career and fought his way up to a #12 world ranking, among other notable titles. After college, Zach spent several more years as a professional and worked as a chemical dependency counselor. In 2009, he started working in the insurance business and has kept going strong ever since.
Outside of work, Zach is involved in the community as a youth boxing coach at Jungle Gym Boxing Academy and as a member of Duluth Rotary 25. As a coach, Zach enjoys mentoring the kids at the gym and guiding them through their boxing careers. Zach has been a Rotarian since 2017 and serves as the 2025 – ’26 Duluth Rotary 25 Club President. Zach and his family are members at EastRidge Community Church and enjoy being involved in everything imaginable. His favorite family activities are traveling, camping, hiking, and being the biggest fan of his kids!
